Sand & water
Will sand really come off with one shake?
Yes, as long as the blanket is dry or only damp. Grains sit on top of the tight weave instead of wedging into it. Lift one edge and shake; the sand slides off.
What if the blanket is soaking wet?
Wet sand sticks to everything. Rinse it off with fresh water or let the sheet dry in the sun for a few minutes, then shake.
Is it completely waterproof?
It is water-resistant: drops bead up and roll off, and wet sand underneath will not soak through. It is not meant to hold standing water like a tarp.
Does it get hot in the sun?
Much less than thick fleece or vinyl. The fabric is thin and breathable, and lighter prints stay noticeably cooler.

How many people fit on each size?
79″ × 83″ seats four adults, 79″ × 108″ or 110″ seats six, and 120″ × 108″ or 108″ × 120″ seats eight. For lying down, halve the number.
How small does it fold?
The standard nylon blanket packs into a pouch about the size of a water bottle. Bigger sizes and polyester take a little more room.
Can I buy two and put them side by side?
Absolutely. Two standard blankets give you more flexibility than one giant — split them at the picnic, join them at the beach.

What comes in the pouch?
The blanket, four ABS stakes, a carabiner and the carry bag the blanket folds into.
The corner pockets or the stakes?
Pockets first: fill them with a scoop of sand each. Add the stakes when the wind picks up.
The stakes will not hold in dry sand.
Dig down a few inches to damp sand and push the stakes in at a 45° angle, leaning away from the blanket.
Care
Can it go in the washing machine?
Yes — cold water, gentle cycle, mild detergent. No bleach or fabric softener.
Can it go in the dryer?
Please don’t. Hang it in the shade; it dries fast on its own.
How do I store it over winter?
Wash, dry completely, fold into the pouch and keep it somewhere dry. A damp blanket in a closed bag is the only thing that can hurt it.
